We had been considering purchasing a standby generator when Costco ran a deal last fall on Generac products. After requesting additional information, we were contacted by a representative from A-1 Heating, Air Conditioning & Electric, who partnered with Costco for installation. Their sales rep, Tom Cox, came by and provided the information and recommendations we needed to make a final decision. The online process of signing purchase agreements and making payment was generally efficient, though we had a few questions trying to reconcile some of the sales figures. Corey and Ricky installed the generator and connected the propane line quickly and neatly. The electricians, Tyrol and Colt, ran the main conduit through the attic and performed the necessary electrical connections with obvious expertise and with minimal power downtime in the house. Despite a disagreement with Idaho Power, the A-1 electricians returned in a timely manner to make a couple of corrections mandated by the inspector. The only reason for the 4-star review relates to obtaining the incentives advertised by Costco/Generac, which required regular correspondence with A-1 for a couple of months. While I cannot pinpoint where the problem occurred, a $500 shop card promised by Costco was never delivered to us. To their credit, A-1 accepted responsibility and cut us a $500 check. Separately, the warranty on the generator was supposed to be doubled from 5 to 10 years. After two months of back-and-forth with A-1, I finally contacted Generac myself, resolving the issue in one day.
